I started my vending business in August 1984 as a way to get out of a "9 to 5 job" that I did not care for.  (Actually, we had to work a whole lot more than just nine to five.)   Like most businesses, it was slow getting started, but it has really taken off the past few years.  It is now my only source of income, and I really enjoy doing the work.

candy

For the first two years, I had only bulk candy venders.  The machine to the right is one of my machines.

After two years, I decided to expand into other areas of vending.  Each year, more or less, I attempt one more type of vending.  Most have not worked out well, and I either "retire" the machines or sell off that division of the business.  I have tried my hand at snack vending, stickers and temporary tattoos, "hand outs", and prepaid phone cards

Of all of those, the only one I stuck with (besides the bulk candy machines) was the phone cards .  However, on February 16, 2002, after five years of selling phone cards, I sold off my phone card route.
